Human Factor XIII (fibrin stabilizing factor), whole molecule, Mr = 340,000 D, is prepared from human plasma
according to the description of Lorand, et al: Methods in Enzymology, 1981, 80: 333. The process is controlled
using gel electrophoresis, (see below), and potential activating contaminants in addition to thrombin are vigorously
excluded. No inhibitors or preservative is included in the product, other than glycerol and 0.5 mM EDTA.
